BUCKHANNON — The Buckhannon City Council did not act upon the unexpired team seat left vacant by former councilman Scott Preston, but the debate lingered on amongst council members on how to fill the empty seat during their meeting Thursday evening.
Preston vacated the seat two weeks ago when his work commitments prevented him from being able to attend council meetings on a regular basis.
The issue was not on the agenda but was raised by Mayor Kenny Davidson at the end of the meeting.
During the discussion, councilman Dave Thomas noted that council did not set an actual deadline for accepting letters of interest at their last meeting. “I think based on that, we should give people at least one more week if they are interested,” Thomas said.
