BUCKHANNON — During the opening day of a trial for the man accused of injuring a 21-month-old boy in his care, causing his death, a doctor testified that the child’s injuries were consistent with those caused by abuse.
Johnathon Queen, 24, of Buckhannon, is standing trial for death of a child by a parent, guardian or custodian or other person, by child abuse, a felony.
Queen was allegedly taking care of Chandler Oberg when an injury occurred, causing brain damage. Chandler died August 30, 2010 after being removed from life support at Ruby Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Mel Wright, an assistant professor of pediatrics and a doctor in the WVU emergency room who examined Chandler, testified about his knowledge of Chandler’s case.
