BUCKHANNON ó On May 2, John and Opal Marsh of 99 River Church Road, Buckhannon will observe their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married in the First Baptist Church, Benbrook, Texas on May 2, 1953.
They are the parents of two children, Michael and Joyce of Greenwood, W.Va. and Cynthia and Willie Parker of Buckhannon. Their grandchildren are, Andy and April-Wall Parker, Morgantown; Dr John Marsh, Lavonia, Mich. , Carrie and Randy Bookholt, Virginia Beach, Va., and Eileen Marsh, Grantsville. They have one very special great-granddaughter, 7-month-old Emerie Cait Bookholt, Virginia Beach.
John is retired from Consolidated Natural Gas Company having worked there for 40 years. Opal retired from the principalship at Alum Bridge School, Lewis County. The Marshs lived in Alum Bridge for 50 years and were active members in the Rock Grove Baptist Church.
Johnís parents were the late Kemper and Martha Woofter Marsh of Linn, W.Va. and Opalís parents were the late Otis and Fannie Jones of Trent, Texas.
John and Opal are now members of the First Baptist Church in Buckhannon.
