BRIDGEWATER, Va. – Betty Jane Lantz, 85, of Fort Defiance, Va., passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at her home.
Betty was born in Vanv Horis, Pa., on November 26, 1927, and was a daughter of the late Audra Ford and Margaret Beryl (Chandler) Long.
She was a member of Heaston United Methodist Church in Hodgesville.
On June 5, 1943, she was united in marriage to Harold “Hank” Milton Lantz, who preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by two sons, Larry Lantz (Diana) of Grottoes, and Sam Lantz (Brenda) of Grottoes; a brother, R. Max Long (Joyce) of Buckhannon; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Dixie Brumfield, and two brothers, Hunter, and Robert Long.
A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Friday, June 14, 2013 at Oak Lawn Cemetery in New Hope, Va., with Pastor Michael Hevener officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Johnson Funeral Service in Grottoes.
