BUCKHANNON — The Upshur County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau and the Buckhannon-Upshur Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to celebrate their new location on Main Street.
The celebration coincided with West Virginia Day and the state’s sesquicentennial birthday.
Keith Buchanan provided musical entertainment in front of the building on Main Street, leading onlookers in singing “God Bless America” and “Country Roads.” Charliena Eubank was also on hand facepainting the state of West Virginia for those in attendance.
“We had a great turnout for our ribbon cutting ceremony,” said Laura Meadows, executive director of the CVB. “We had a great time celebrating West Virginia’s 150th birthday in our new office.”
