Sarah Nale plays a witch and Teneille Garton is Rapunzel in the Buckhannon Community Theatre’s production of “Into the Woods,” which begins tonight and runs through Sunday in the Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts. .

BUCKHANNON — An ambivalent Cinderella? A blood-thirsty Little Red Riding Hood? A Prince Charming with a roving eye? They’re all among the cockeyed characters in Buckhannon Community Theatre’s production of “Into the Woods.”

The show opens in the Performing Arts Center at West Virginia Wesleyan College on Wednesday, July 17, and runs through Sunday, July 21. Curtain time is at 7:30 p.m. all nights except on Sunday, when the show will start at 2 p.m.

Director Ron Williams, long time veteran of BCT, is very excited for the show.

“This cast is amazingly ready for opening night,” Williams said. “We have a very good ensemble, all of whom are great vocalists. We also have an tried and true musical director in Joshua Stubbs, who has done a fantastic job, and we have a live orchestra.

“It is impossible to express the difference an orchestra makes in the show. The first time that I watched our actors perform with the orchestra, I was stunned. It is simply marvelous.”
