Bucs dominate on both sides in final preseason scrimmage

SUTTON — The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers dominated on the ground in their final preseason scrimmage of the 2013 football season against the host Braxton County Eagles.

The Bucs outgained the Eagles on the ground by a 317-25 margin during the varsity portion of the scrimmage, in which each team twice ran a series of 10 plays starting from their own 30-yard line, followed by a normal down-and-distance series, plus one additional down-and-distance series to conclude the varsity competition.

The Bucs scored three touchdowns to the Eagles one in varsity play, then shut out the Eagles by a 4-0 spread in touchdowns during the junior varsity portion of the scrimmage, in which each team ran 10 plays and a down-and-distance series, followed by one final down-and-distance possession.
