INWOOD — Though they played without a pair of starting defenders, the Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers took advantage of key contributions from a pair of reserves and still finished with their first shutout of the boys soccer season Saturday in a 2-0 win over the host Musselman Applemen.
The Bucs scored a pair of goals just two minutes apart, with Michael McCoy scoring the first and Marty Elliot the second for his team-leading sixth goal of the season. With the win, the Bucs improved to 2-1 heading into Wednesday’s Big Ten Conference opener at Robert C. Byrd.
