BUCKHANNON — With 11 men, they were a goal better. With 10, a goal worse. In the end, it all evened out for the West Virginia Wesleyan College men’s soccer team, which survived a wild 1-1 double-overtime game with Millersville (Pa.) on Sunday.

Things started off well enough for the Bobcats. After a few minutes of back-and-forth play, sophomore Alex Zidani hooked up with Jordan Halpern for the game’s first goal in the 16th minute. It was Halpern’s second goal of the year.

But despite the early lead, head coach Gavin Donaldson said the Wesleyan squad didn’t look as sharp as he had hoped going into the game against the regional PSAC school.
