TENNERTON Ira Robert Skolnick, 63, of Route 20 South Road, Rock Cave, died Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg. He was born on Dec. 23, 1949, in Queens, N.Y., a son of the late Bernard and Thelma Sussman Skolnick. He is survived by three daughters: Dana Hayton and husband John of Parkersburg, Kari Wilson and husband Andy of Ashland, Ky., and Emily Skolnick of Parkersburg; seven grandchildren: Olivia, Anna, and Bradley Hayton, Spencer, Brody, and Parker Wilson and Logan Cain; sister Mona Skolnick Nardone of Brooklyn, N.Y.; sister Nancy Guthrie and niece Hannah Guthrie of Rock Cave; brother Joe Taylor; and nephews Michael, Bryan and Joey Nardone.
He was preceded in death by one brother A.B. Bud Guthrie.
Mr. Skolnick was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and was a retired registered nurse having worked at the Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg and the Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston. He was part owner of Rock Cave Camo. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Sept.13, 2013, at the West Virginia National Cemetery at Pruntytown.
