WESTON — Marjorie Kathleen Foster, 73, of Rock Cave passed away on Friday, September 6, 2013 in Crestview Nursing Home of Jane Lew following an extended illness.
She was born in Glenville on Jan. 11, 1940: daughter of the late Claudius Ray Brown and Rebecca Ellen (Settle) Brown.
Mrs. Foster is survived by two daughters: Betty (Charlie) Westfall of Weston and Kathy (Bill) Chidester of Rock Cave, two sons: Leslie Alkire of Weston and John Alkire of Rock Cave, and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Ruth Simms, Alreada McHenry, Burldean Stein and Edna Brown all of Weston and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter: Eleanor Cogar, two brothers: Luther and Hall Brown and one sister: Isabelle Corathers.
Mrs. Foster was a homemaker and Baptist by faith. Marjorie enjoyed sewing, crafts, painting, drawing, and listening and watching gospel shows. She liked the outdoors, cookouts, and spending time with her family.
Family and friends were received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held today, Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Sarah Weaver officiating. Interment will follow services in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens of Jane Lew.
