BUCKHANNON — For drivers parking on the wrong side of city streets, your days of ticket-free parking are coming to an end.
Buckhannon City Council decided it’s time to start enforcing a state code that is already on the books for parking on the wrong side of the street after a concerned citizen brought up the issue with Buckhannon police chief Matt Gregory.
“The individual had concerns about the manner in which people were parking vehicles on various streets throughout town,” Gregory said. “The specific concern was for people who are biking. If a parked vehicle would pull out against traffic, it could present a potential hazard for the cyclist and motorist alike.”
