Rain puts a damper on arts fest, chili cookoff

BUCKHANNON — Mother Nature did her best to disrupt the fourth annual Main Street Arts Festival and Upshur County Farmers’ Market Chili Cook-Off Saturday afternoon at Jawbone Park.

Continuous downpours and heavy winds created extraneous circumstances during the event, but it didn’t dampen the enthusiasm of Tom Lynch, Main Street Arts Cooperative president.

“It was a wonderful event,” Lynch said. “Before the rain and wind moved in, we were having a pretty nice turnout.”
