BUCKHANNON — After watching what was once an 18-point second-half lead dwindle down to just five points, the West Virginia Wesleyan Bobcats turned the tide of momentum for good Saturday with two quick scores thanks to their defense and special teams.

The Bobcats defeated the West Virginia State Yellow Jackets 45-30 for their second win of the season — a win insured by big plays from a trio of freshmen. Wesleyan took their largest lead of the game with less than four minutes elapsed in the third quarter, when freshman linebacker Desmond Holley ripped the ball away from Yellow Jacket receiver Jon Cabral-Rams and returned the fumble 48 yards for a touchdown and 35-17 lead.
