Wesleyan fights off Falcons in OT win

FAIRMONT — West Virginia Wesleyan head coach George Shehl admits his Bobcat football team had hit their low point of the season two weeks ago in a 49-21 loss at Concord.

But now, however, the Bobcats have won two straight games against Mountain East Conference opponents, including a 40-37 win Thursday in an overtime thriller at Fairmont State. And, after improving their season record to 4-5 and MEC ledger to 4-4 heading into Saturday’s season finale and senior-day game against Urbana (Ohio), Shehl believes his Bobcats have moved from their lowest valley to their highest peak of the season so far.
