BUCKHANNON — Carl Junior Tanner, 85, of Buckhannon, died Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 at Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center in Clarksburg.
He was born Sept. 27, 1928 in Cadis, Ohio, a son of the late Edmond and Lula Plum Tanner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert M. and Raymond C. Tanner.
He is survived by a friend, Rose Wilson of Buckhannon. Mr. Tanner was a coal miner and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.
Friends will be received at the Poling-St. Clair Funeral Home on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 from 10 a.m. until noon with Rev. J. Edward McDaniels officiating.
A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. in the W.Va. National Cemetery in Pruntytown with military honors being conducted.
