WESTON — Fay E. Crites, 93, of Berlin Rd. Weston passed away peacefully at noon on Monday, Nov. 11, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family, following an extended illness.
She was born on Feb. 9, 1920 in Newlon, Upshur Co. a daughter of the late Omer Judson Eskew and Freda Eliza Roth Eskew
On March 11, 1942 she married Reverend Clyde S. Crites and they enjoyed 65 years of marriage until his passing on Feb. 13, 2007.
She is survived by two daughters: Sharon Rose Harper of Berlin and Sheila Diann Carpenter and husband, Theodore Robert, of Buckhannon; granddaughter, Janet Lynn Cutright and husband Bruce and great-grandson, Blade, of Jane Lew; one sister, Rose Alderman of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Clifford, Dane, Carl and Clark Eskew and one sister, Nora Eckelberry.
Fay enjoyed bird watching, flower and vegetable gardening, canning, and watching Bonanza, Gunsmoke and The Price Is Right. She was a kind soul who loved Bible study and was a faithful and active member of the Haleville Union Mission Church in Weston. She treasured time spent with family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Friends and family will gather at the Pat Boyle Funeral Home and Cremation Service at 144 Hackers Creek Rd. in Jane Lew from 5 to 8 p.m. today, Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday from the Pat Boyle Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend William JB Gum and the Reverend Russell Furr officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery at Berlin.
