Softball Lady ‘Cats drop two straight games on spring break tour

CLERMONT, Fla. — The West Virginia Wesleyan Lady Bobcats opened their spring break softball schedule on a sour note here Friday, dropping a 6-5 extra-inning verdict to Southern New Hampshire’s Lady Penmen and falling to the Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) Lady Cardinals, 13-4.

Southern New Hampshire jumped into a 2-0 lead in the fourth inning when Morgan Farmer singled and Jessica Torsiello followed with a home run.

The Lady ‘Cats grabbed the lead with a three-run burst in the fifth. Alex Furr drove Olivia Gore across with a single, Jacqui Omichinski was hit by a bases-loaded pitch to score Ashley Hurey and Carleigh Hall dashed home on a passed ball.
