TENNTERTON — After a strong performance in the Big 10 Conference championship meet, several wrestlers, representing Buckhannon-Upshur High School, found themselves ranked in the latest WV-Mat coaches’ poll.

Tucker Hurst is the highest ranked Buc, sitting atop West Virginia AAA’s 138-pound weight classification. Hurst, being the #1-overall ranked wrestler in the 138-pound weight division has compiled a strong resume entering the postseason stretch, including being crowing champion of the Frank Ferguson Brooke Classic.

Recently crowned Big 10 Conference Champion, Liam Garcia, sits ranked as the #5 wrestler in the 120-pound weight division. Aidan Wilson is ranked #6 in the 126-pound weight division and Luke Bohnsack in ranked #7 in AAA for the 152-pound weight division to wrap up the list of ranked Buc wrestlers. Another notable stat worth including is that Nathan Cornett has beaten the 145-pound weight divisions #7 wrestler twice, but has lost to the #8-ranked wrestlers, as well as a ranked wrestler from Wheeling Park, so that ranking may be a little skewed.
