BUCKHANNON — Members of Create Buckhannon, along with all the hardworking volunteers and vendors, proved successful in hosting the tenth Festival Fridays celebration of the season on August 6. However, organizers fear it may have unfortunately been the last due to an uptick in local COVID cases.
The Festival Fridays event scheduled for August 13 has reportedly been canceled “due to the spike in COVID-19 cases in Upshur County.” Organizers said the decision regarding Buckhannon’s last two remaining Festival Fridays celebrations is still pending and will be announced at a later date.
Music filled the air Friday evening as residents and visitors gathered in Jawbone Park for fellowship and good food. Top Shelf, a popular area band, put on a show that entertained all ages during the main performance.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about the fate of the remainder of Festival Fridays’ summer season.
